Used car sales are rising, particularly for prestige used cars

It seems that despite the easing of the lockdown after the height of the Covid-19 pandemic many people are still very wary of using public transport.

This is despite the various safety measures that have been introduced, including making mask wearing compulsory on public transport.

As a result, according to many of the used car trade publications, dealers have seen a surge in demand for used cars, but particularly for prestige used cars. It is possible that this has been further compounded by the fact that full production on new versions has not yet resumed in many factories.

According to Autotrader, traffic on its website and apps was up by 29% in June compared with the same time last year, while Motorway.co.uk, another used car marketplace, said it had enjoyed record sales of as much as £1.6m a day since it restarted sales with socially distanced collections in early May.

Car dealer Magazine has published a list of prices for prestige used cars, showing that in many cases prestige used car models have either been holding their value or even increasing in price.

Top sellers they include are the Mercedes AMG C63, which has risen by 8% in value, the BMW X6 3.0d xDrive, where prices have risen by 7.2%, and the Fiat 500X, which has risen by just under 6%.
Overall, according to the national newspaper the Daily Express, demand for models in the price range £15,000 and £20,000 has risen by 70%.

As a specialist in prestige used cars we, too, have experienced this surge and you know you can trust Kimber cars for our attention to detail and personal service. This includes delivering cars to the address our customers specify.

So, if you are thinking of replacing an existing used vehicle or buying one it would be wise to get in quickly rather than risk paying more for the same car a couple of months down the line.  Please take a look at my prestige used cars for sale to see if anything interests you.
